Christmas 2011: A Time For Family and Reflection
12/23/11 – Over the holiday season, families and friends from all across Six Nations of the Grand River will gather together on Christmas morning to open presents. Later in the day, many families will enjoy one another’s company over a traditional holiday meal, complete with stuffing, cranberry sauce and turkey.

In this holiday season, as we gather all the presents and food together for our family celebrations, let us not forget those less fortunate. People who have given Christmas basket donations of money and food over the years are making a difference in the community. Their acts of kindness will make the season more festive for over 600 Six Nations families.

We must also take time to reflect upon the many joys brought into our lives over the past year and the hopes and promises of the coming year. Let us all consider the consequences of drinking and driving and the hurt that some of our families are going through as a result of dangerous and careless driving.

Let’s make 2012 a safe and prosperous year for all in our community.
