Artistic Six Nations Talent Brings Attention To Fire Prevention
05/02/11 – Fire prevention and education are great tools for preventing fires before they happen. That message is a consistent theme in the posters created by several Six Nations students.

At the April 19 General Council meeting, Michael Seth, Fire Chief for Six Nations Fire Department, presented students with commemorative certificates and cheques for their artistic works showing how to prevent fires in their homes, schools and other favorite places. The poster contest was part of the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation’s Regional Poster Competition.

Winning posters had unique messages ranging from checking smoke alarms to never playing with matches at all. Students who came in first and second will see their safety poster go to the national level of this fire prevention poster competition.
