07/26/11 – The daily grind of going through any education program can at times be trying and stressful. Students who achieve perfect or near perfect attendance are deserving of recognition and congratulations.
At the General Council meeting of July 19, 2011, Six Nations Elected Council honoured high school students who earned awards for Awesome, Excellent and Perfect attendance.
Presenting the awards, Councillors Lewis Staats and Helen Miller read aloud the names of each student and their respective school. The Awesome award for only one unexcused absence was $100. Excellent awards of $150 were given to students who had no unexcused absences. Perfect awards of $200 were given to students who attended every day in the school year.
Before gathering for a group photo in front of friends and family, Council wished each student well with a handshake.
