Six Nations Elected Council And City Of Brantford Delay Signing Of Consultation And Accommodation Agreement
03/07/11 - (Brantford) – The Elected Council of the Six Nations and the City of Brantford have delayed the signing of a consultation and accommodation agreement which they announced last week, following representations by members of both communities that they wanted more time to fully review the seven page agreement before finalizing it.
Chief Montour of the Six Nations expressed willingness to consult with the people of Six Nations. “If there are concerns among the people of the Six Nations about this agreement, I want to listen to those concerns,” he said.
“I am also happy to delay the signing of this agreement,” Mayor Friel said. “I am confident that the more exposure people have to this agreement and the process it puts in place, the more they will like it.”
