Department - Finance

The Finance Department is
responsible for overseeing the
coordination of the financial
reporting requirements across
all Council departments and
employs seven full time
employees and the Director
of Finance.

Central Finance is responsible for
overseeing a combined budget of
approximately $66 Million.

We work with at least 20 other
departments on budget submissions
and numerous reporting
requirements.

Accomplishments

Provided technical assistance on
accounting matters to all Six Nations Council departments bringing savings of approximately $200,000 that would have been paid to consultants due to the absence of Finance Director for approximately 2 years.

Sale of the Panterra investments with a profit of approx. $100,000.

Department of Finance Activities

The Finance Department provides the sub-fund accounting for Central
Administration, Membership, Welfare, Innovations, Economic
Development, Economic Development Fund, Casino Rama, Lands
and Resources, Technical Services and Environmental Services.
This would be approximately $14M in expenditures.

Comprehensive Funding Arrangement review.
INAC Reporting Requirements.
Completed Insurance and Audit tenders.
Advise and Assistance to the other 16 plus Council departments on financial matters and the review and approval of the report submissions.
Technical assistance is provided Committees on request.
