Department - Lands and Resources
The Lands and Resources
Department researches into
our ancestral/territorial lands as well
as lands deeded to the Six Nations by
the Haldimand Proclamation of
October 25, 1784, granted to Six
Nations, six miles on each side of
the Grand River from its source at
Dundalk to its mouth at Lake Erie
(approx. 950,000 acres).

This department consists of the
Litigation Support Unit and the Land
Use Unit. The Land Use Unit monitors
the use of lands and resources and
specific claims of lands originally
granted to Six Nations. Further
monitoring of development is
completed by the Six Nations Wildlife
Management Office. The location of
the Wildlife Manager and Land Use
Unit are the Six Nations Eco-Centre.
