How is the project funded? The Internet Towers Project is made possible by various financial contributions from: Two Rivers, Six Nations of the Grand River Economic Development Trust, Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation, Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council, and Xplornet. Why did the bid for the service provider not go to general public? Xplornet Communications Inc. acquired the incumbent wireless service provider (Silo Wireless). Will off-reserve members be able to connect to the towers? Just like on-reserve community members connect to off-reserve towers, off-reserve customers can connect to the on-reserve towers. Each customer connects to the tower with the best signal quality. Are all the towers going to be taller than the existing towers? All the new and replacement towers will be 45M. Would customers be required to switch their internet providers to enjoy the benefits of the new towers? Or are these towers universal, meaning customers can use other providers and still receive the same amount of internet speed? The new towers provide wireless services from Xplornet. Residents who wish to receive their Internet services from these towers will need to become Xplornet customers if they are currently with a different provider. ...
