Six Nations Wildlife Office - Rabies & Gypsy Moth Notices
UPDATE FROM THE SIX NATIONS WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT OFFICE Notice of Oral Rabies Vaccine (ORV) Distribution *The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry will begin baiting flights over Six Nations on Sunday, August 25th and will continue for approximately the next 3 days (weather permitting). There are 10 total flights scheduled with flight lines over Six Nations using a Twin Otter aircraft flying at low altitude. If flights are delayed, updates to the schedule will follow.*

Notice of Oral Rabies Vaccine (ORV) Distribution - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry will be conducting oral rabies vaccine (ORV) bait distribution in the summer and fall of 2019. Baiting operations will be completed by Twin Otter aircraft from September 28-October 4. In addition to the activities mentioned above, MNRF may conduct localized rapid response baiting measures which will only take place in the event of a raccoon or fox strain rabies case outside of the planned baiting area.

Gypsy Moth Aerial Spraying Beginning This Week As the hardwood tree foliage has nearly filled out on the territory and Gypsy moth larvae are beginning to appear in large numbers, itís time to begin aerial spraying. The applications will be made by airplane flying at low altitudes in the northeast portion of the reserve, which was found to be the most heavily infested area.
