Welfare has been a Department
under Council for over 40 years.
Mr. Art Anderson was the
Administrator until his
retirement in 1981. Diane Hill
became the Administrator in
1981 and held this position
until 1997 at which time
Sharon Martin was appointed
to this position of Welfare
Administrator
The Welfare Office was in the
old Council Chambers on 4th line
and then moved into the old
nurses station on Chiefswood Road
(currently the library) until 1996
and then moved to 1697 4th Line
until June 2003. The Welfare
Department is now located at
12 Sunrise Court.
The Six Nations Welfare Department has always delivered an active program, to some degree.
Innovations, is the Active Measures component of our program. Innovations offer Employability Assessment, Career Planning, Resume Development and much more for Social Assistant Recipients.
