Six Nations of the Grand River Sends Condolences to James Smith Cree Nation

On Sunday, September 4, 2022, news broke that multiple people were stabbed in James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon, Saskatchewan in a spree of attacks in the early morning. These attacks have resulted in the loss of 10 lives, with 18 more people being injured.

Six Nations of the Grand River would like to send our deepest condolences to James Smith Cree Nation, Chief Wally Burns, and the loved ones of those affected by this horrific incident. We are sending comfort, courage, and good medicine your way as your community processes this shocking violence and unspeakable loss.
