JOB SUMMARY: The Wildlife and Stewardship Technician will assist the Wildlife and Stewardship Manager in working towards certain goals of the Wildlife and Stewardship Office and the Lands and Resources Department, by the following.
• Work towards stewardship goals as stated in the Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) Community Plan.
• An active member of the Consultation and Accommodation Process (CAP) Team by following and implementing the CAP Team Policy; including, negotiating accommodation agreements, and implementing the environmental levy.
• Review and comment on technical documents including environmental assessments.
• Network with government, community organizations, landowners, partners, etc.
• Respond to concerns from community members.
• Administer Shipman letters; and facilitate hunting certification.
• Conduct routine monitoring and maintenance of ecosystem services (i.e. LDD moth control, rabies vaccination programs).
• Locate and apply for funding for projects and maintain budgets.
• Implement projects and studies that identify and address environmental issues.
• Participate in ecosystem restoration strategies.
• Maintain long-term population monitoring data, particularly for Species at Risk (SAR).
• Analyze data and prepare articles and reports as required.
• Provide educational opportunities for community members and other residents of the watershed.
• Collaborate with Kayanase when required.

Wage: Minimum $52,900
