For Immediate Release: July 24th, 2025 OHSWEKEN, ON – Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) currently remains under a State of Emergency as active response and remediation efforts continue. We recognize the impact that this crisis has had on our community and thank everyone for your ongoing cooperation.
Currently, over 60 clients of SNGR have been affected by the flooding and have been temporarily evacuated to various locations. These clients are safe, well cared for, and are looking forward to returning home. We are committed to facilitating this process as quickly and efficiently as possible.
On Friday, July 11, 2025, an Industrial Hygienist assessed the Iroquois Lodge in accordance with the guidelines from the Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC). We are also updating the powers of attorney throughout the remediation and restoration process. Our team is actively collaborating with the insurance provider to get these repairs underway.

Assessments of the 12 other SNGR buildings are still ongoing. This work means that some staff members may be temporarily displaced. If you are looking for a staff member who is not in their regular office location, please call their office phone number, and you will be updated.
