
(June 3, 2025) OHSWEKEN, ON – Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) is pleased to announce two new leadership staff to the SNGR team, Tracy Brant – Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Debra Jonathan – Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective Monday, June 2, 2025.
Tracy holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education, with senior-level experience across multiple First Nations. She has served as Director of Social Services, Director of Education, Principal, and Teacher in First Nation communities including Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, Caldwell First Nation, Kettle and Stony Point, Walpole Island, and Chippewas of the Thames. Tracy is dedicated to improving work culture and operational efficiency within First Nation community-focused organizations.

Debra transitions into this role after serving as Director of Well-Being at SNGR, where she was instrumental in strengthening the department and promoting community well-being. A Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she has senior-level experience from Six Nations of the Grand River, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch for Health Canada and Indigenous Services Canada, and Six Nations of the Grand River Health Services. She has previously served as Director of the Department of Well-Being, Nurse Manager, and Incident Commander/Nurse Manager.
Chief Sherri-Lyn Hill stated, “I am excited to welcome both Tracy Brant as the new CEO and Debra Jonathan on her transition to COO at SNGR. Their extensive leadership experience will be an excellent asset to the SNGR and the community.”
