For Immediate Release: August 26th, 2025 OHSWEKEN, ON – Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) currently remains under a State of Emergency as active response and remediation efforts continue due to the community flooding that happened on June 18, 2025.
SNGR remains fully engaged with the Ministry of Long-Term Care to expedite the timeline for a new build of the Iroquois Lodge Long-Term Care Home. The Emergency Control Group (ECG) is committed to providing updates to the community as new information becomes available.
The ECG group would like to extend our deepest appreciation to all staff, residents, and families who have been affected by the recent flooding. To our residents who were displaced—we recognize the hardship, uncertainty, and disruption this has caused. Your patience, strength, and understanding during this difficult time are truly commendable. To our dedicated staff and caregivers—your tireless efforts in ensuring the safety, comfort, and care of our residents have been extraordinary. You have gone above and beyond, often under challenging circumstances, and your commitment has been the foundation of the resilience shown throughout this ordeal.
