For Immediate Release: March 16th, 2026 – OHSWEKEN, ON – Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) is pleased to announce Debra Jonathan as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective Monday, March 23, 2026.

Debra, a member of Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation, transitions into this role after serving SNGR as the Chief Operating Officer of SNGR since June 2025, and prior to that as the Director of Well-Being, where she was instrumental in strengthening the department and promoting community well-being. Debra has senior-level management experience working at Six Nations of the Grand River, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, and Indigenous Services Canada for over twenty years.
Chief Sherri-Lyn Hill stated, “Having had the opportunity to work along side Debra for the last several months, and witness her commitment to collaborative and collective responsibility, I am confident her leadership will have lasting benefits for SNGR and the broader community.”
