For Immediate Release: June 10th, 2026 – OHSWEKEN, ON – Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council (SNGREC) and representatives of the Hodiskeagehda Men’s Fire (Men’s Fire) are, together, seeking transparency and accountability.
SNGREC is joining a proposed class action led by Hodiskeagehda Men’s Fire. The legal action is against the Haudenosaunee Development Institute (HDI), Aaron Detlor, Brian Doolittle, and related parties regarding consultation and accommodation funds that HDI has received on behalf of the Six Nations of the Grand River community.
Both SNGREC and the Men’s Fire agree that community members have a right to know how these funds have been collected, managed, and used.
An agreement was reached (and signed by SNGREC and the Men’s Fire on June 9, 2026) to add Six Nations of the Grand River as a party to the litigation led by Bill Monture and Wilfred Davey. This agreement specifies that any funds recovered through the court process would go into a trust to benefit our community.

This joint effort is a step towards greater transparency and building a path forward that benefits all members of Six Nations.
This historic agreement also recognizes and represents collaboration among Six Nations of the Grand River leadership to uphold our collective responsibilities.
