COMMUNITY EMERGENCY UPDATE: IROQUOIS LODGE RESIDENTS MOVE TO FOX RIDGE
For Immediate Release: August 18, 2026

OHSWEKEN, ON – Due to the severe impacts of the June 2025 community flood on the Iroquois Lodge building, residents had to be relocated to a long-term care facility in Delhi and have remained there since.

Since that time, Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) staff have worked tirelessly to bring residents closer to home. Through these efforts, and with the assistance of the City of Brantford, a lease at the Fox Ridge facility, located at 389 West St., Brantford, was finalized with SNGR.

Following many months of remediation and updating required at the Fox Ridge facility and discussions with the Ministry of Long-Term Care, SNGR is pleased to finally share that Iroquois Lodge residents will be moving to the Fox Ridge facility, on August 18, 2026. Fox Ridge will provide a safe and welcoming space for the residents while we progress with the new Iroquois Lodge build in Ohsweken.

SNGR would like to extend a nia:wen ko:wa to all the residents, Powers of Attorney, families, and community members for their patience, cooperation, and understanding during this challenging time. Your support has been crucial to our progress, and we are truly appreciative.
